Northern America is the northernmost region of North America. The boundaries may be drawn slightly differently. It lies directly north of Middle America (Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America). Northern America's land frontier with the rest of North America then coincides with the Mexico–United States border.
It is one of the world's most ethnically diverse and multicultural nations, the product of large-scale immigration from many other countries. The geography and climate are also extremely diverse, and the country is home to a wide variety of wildlife.
The United States carries 322,180 million people in a land mass of 9.8 million km² as compared to Canada's 36.3 million people spread across 9.9 million km² (much the same area).
