At last a truely 5 star hotel at Echo Beach in Bali which is just spectacular.
The Como took over the doomed Sea Sentosa Hotel buildings which laid desolate for many years and transformed them into the best hotel and beach club on Echo Beach.
We inspected the one bedroom pool residence room located on the ground floor with direct acres to the pool, in actual fact it was 5 steps from your back door.
The rooms are beautifully appointed and you can see it's a luxurious fitout where they haven't cut any corners. As you walk in you have the small but functional kitchenette with full fridge and hot plates and a table for two.
What is cool though is that you have a large mirror wall opposite the kitchenette which slides back to open to an adjoining room making your area a large two bedroom apartment, very clever. And what is ever more clever is that the designers followed the same concept again in the lounge area, with the ability to open up the adjoining room with a large mirrored sliding door.
The lounge area has a massive flat screen tv and couch and the bedroom, however the bedroom can be shut off with hidden sliding doors. The bathroom is marble clad walls with a large egg shaped bath tub and walk in shower.
The gardens and pool hug the the hotel building which are picturesque, very modern and in the Como branding
A beach club is located beachside which is open to the public for a minimum spend and gives you access to the beach club pool and facilities. The outdoor furniture is very cool and funky and love the vision by the interior designer. Large king size bed beds are suspended and swing freely living your feeling of floating, there are single swinging chairs located around the property and gorgeous day beds located on the grass with canopies to shield you from the sun. The pool isn't huge but has beautiful view to the ocean.
The beach club restaurant food is stunning selection of international cuisines that is healthy and fresh. The cocktail list is extensive and creative. We experience excellent service all day by the attentive friendly staff. There is also the Shambhala Retreat Spa here that is just waiting to pamper you. Didn't get a treatment this time, but will do when we stay - although it looks pricey for treatments.
The residences are just beautiful and we loved our inspection, can wait to come back and stay at the Como Uma and do a more in-depth review.
